Who is pearadox?

Pearadox 5414 is an extra-curricular FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics team consisting of three high schools in Pearland ISD. They provide the skills needed for the future, such as creativity, STEAM, leadership, teamwork, and many more. In addition, it provides an early introduction to engineering, business, and art, with hands on experience and under the guidance of professional mentors. However, they are more than just a robotics team, having won awards for their business, marketing, and community outreach.

Our History

Pearadox started off in the summer of 2014 as seven junior high students in a neighborhood garage. They realized that there was no competitive robotics program in their high school, and decided to establish Pearadox. In the years since, Pearadox has been recognized in the community and partners with local companies such as Microsoft, NASA, NRG, and United Safety. As of the fall of 2022, they have approximately 60 team members, multiple mentors and have competed at the world championship the past 3 years.

2023

Pearadox finished their 2023 season strong, making team history! Recently, Pearadox competed at the Houston FIRST World Championship, an international competition with over 400 teams being invited from all around the globe to compete at the event.

These teams are divided into 8 different subdivisions. Pearadox competed in the Curie subdivision, which included 78 teams from all around the world. Overall, they had a record of 10-4-0 (win-loss-tie) the entire competition, placing 10th in Curie.

In addition to their performance, they were able to host their own events called Girl’s Get Together, Brillian Black Builders and Safe Spaces in Stem, where they invite professionals in STEM to talk about the future in science for everyone. It hopes to encourage everyone to get into STEM careers and stay invested in them.

Altogether, this has been a great year for the team in showcasing their skills in both technical and non-technical aspects. They’ve been a four-time finalist while earning many various awards including the Impact Award and the Creativity Award, honoring their efforts for spreading STEM into their community and schools.
